High Discharge Pressure Alarm

Unit shows high head pressure alarm or pressure relief valve releasing

Fix Steps:
1
Check condenser coil is clean - pressure wash if dirty (power off unit first)
2
Verify all condenser fans are operating
3
Check fan motors and capacitors are functioning properly
4
Ensure adequate clearance around unit for airflow (minimum 3 feet)
5
Verify refrigerant charge is not overcharged
6
Check for non-condensibles in refrigerant system
7
Inspect condenser fan rotation direction is correct
8
Check ambient temperature - high pressure normal if above 95°F
9
Verify pressure transducer is reading correctly
10
Reset high pressure switch and monitor - if trips again, call service
Preventive Tip

Clean condenser coils quarterly. Check fan operation monthly. Maintain proper clearances. Annual refrigerant analysis. Monitor discharge pressure during service. Replace failed components immediately.
